Jessica Laird is the CEO of Nephila Capital, our flagship Catastrophe business. She is responsible for the strategy and execution of the Catastrophe business overseeing capital, underwriting, portfolio and research. Prior to taking the CEO role in August 2025, she was the Head of Property, responsible for all property catastrophe risk underwritten and the resulting portfolios constructed by Nephila. Jessica joined Nephila in 2010 and has held a variety of senior leadership positions across structuring and operations, data analytics, risk origination and portfolio construction, and has been very involved in capital raising and supporting existing investors since 2020. She spent 5 years in the Nashville office as the Head of Analytics, working alongside Nephila's Co-CEO's on the company's core strategic initiatives and development of new business, such as Velocity Risk Underwriters. Prior to Nephila, she worked at Ernst & Young in their reinsurance audit group. She has a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Accountant. She is based in Bermuda.
